Ahhh....to be six years old and think its possible to own a cow when you live in a subdivision...lol! My daughter asked for a cow the other day....I had to break her little heart and tell her that we don't exactly have the room or the equipment to take care of a cow..lol! We have no barn...no cattle supplies....and we definitely don't have the money to feed a cow! LOL!

She used to want a pony...apparently she's moved on from the pony..not sure if the cow would be any better or worse...lol! I am fond of cows though, just not in my backyard. I used to want one when I was little too...heck..I wanted the whole farm...pigs, chickens, rabbits, horses, everything. I guess mother like daughter huh?! lol!

If it doesn't stop raining....I'm pure sugar ya know...LOL!! Ok..you can stop laughing now! Seriously though...it can stop raining anytime now. I'm sick of it! I mean it does have its advantages....it is perfect napping weather, but I think that is the only one ....lol! It has rained everyday for the last week I think. Ok..I thought of another one...its not snow! It could be snow...and its not..so that is good too... That's all though!!! There are no more....well technically there may be, but I'm not putting that much thought into this post right now....I think I'm gonna go take a nap..lol!

I was just watching tv and one of those commercials for acne treatment came on. For anyone that watches All My Children...have you every noticed that the actress that plays Annie is in one of them....I thought that was kind of funny. Her hair is a bit darker, but you can definitely tell it is her. I guess everyone has to start somewhere...and hers was in a commercial for the best acne treatment out there.

It must be hard to be a struggling actor. I've thought this many times while watching some of my kids favorite shows. Some of the actors on those kids shows must be really desperate for work..lol! If you've ever watched the Doodlebops you'll know what I'm talking about..lol! I have to give them credit though...they are braver than I...you wouldn't catch me on tv like that..LOL.

That's how I know winter is coming soon. I get the goosebumps all the time and my fingernails are always blue. I have very poor circulation in my hands, so during the winter months my fingernails are usually a shade of blue or purple...no need for fingernail polish..lol!

Other clues that winter is near...squirrels busily collecting nuts, people putting their Christmas lights up(before there is 3 feet of snow on the ground), winter coats make their way from the back of the closet to the front of the closet, tennis shoes are replaced by a pair of UGG Classic Short boots, and you wake up in the morning to find your car is covered in frost.

Ahh the joys of winter...I could really do without most of them..lol! So what are some signs around your house that winter is approaching?

Yesterday was the last big family picnic of the year. It was pretty fun. We played a vicious game of bocce ball. I am very happy to report that Dh and I are still the reigning champions...LOL! We are awesome at bocce ball....we win almost every game...we ROCK!

There was also a cutthroat game of dominoes. Name-calling and threats are usually heard at some point during the game..lol! We take our dominoes seriously around here. Its always fun though, and everyone enjoys it.

Of course there was a ton of food involved. I ate way too much and felt sick this morning. My sister in law makes the best cheesecake. I definitely ate one or two pieces too many..lol! It was so good though, I couldn't help myself. Not to mention all the other food that was there....lol! Its probably a good thing it was the last picnic of the year..I always eat too much them. I think everyone does..lol!

It was a fun day though....we left around noon and got back home around 9:30. It was a long fun day. The kids came home and crashed. I think they were asleep before their heads hit the pillow. I slept great last night too...which was nice. I guess the combination of fresh air, fun, and food is the key to a great nights sleep...lol!

That sounds kind of weird...lol! I never pictured myself as a landlord..but I am. We rented out our house a few months ago, and today we experienced one of the many joys of being a landlord...toilet repair...lol! Our renter called and said that they thought the toilet was leaking....fun! Turns out the wax ring needed to be replaced. It was a whopping $4.00 repair. I love those kinds of repairs...lol!

They eventually would like to buy the house, and are doing some things to fix it up on their own. They discovered the toilet leak while they were replacing the tile in the bathroom. The also would like to put in a stainless steel backsplash and hardwood floors.Which is fine with me...less money out of our pocket..which is always good. They are great renters so far...which I know are not easy to come by. So I'm very happy. It's nice not having to worry about your property being damaged.

I know our experience is not the typical one...so do any of you have any horror stories you would like to share?

Does anyone else love shopping online? I love it! I can shop in my pajamas! It doesn't get any better than that I don't think. I am definitely doing most of my Christmas shopping online this year. It's just so much easier than fighting crowds, and you can get anything online just about..from food to Ferrari parts. Today I spent some time online looking for Halloween costumes for ds. I found some really cute ones. Now I just have to decide which one, that's the hard part...lol! They are all cute....so this one is going to be tough....so far the puppy dog one is winning. One..it's cute. Two...it's warm.

It snowed last weekend, so I'm thinking warm costumes are going to be a must this year. Last year it was still in the 60's. I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen this year. We will probably be lucky to see 40. Brrrrrr...... I'm not ready for winter. I would much rather it be 70 all year round...that would be my perfect little world..lol! I know its not going to happen, but I can dream...right? lol!

I love Halloween. Its probably my favorite holiday. I love pretty much everything about it. I love decorating the house. I love carving pumpkins. I love picking out costumes for the kids. I love trick or treating, and I of course love the candy..lol! Who doesn't?

Halloween is in two weeks, and I am excited! lol! Tomorrow dd and I are going to the store to pick out pumpkins after school and then coming home and decorating. It should be fun. She's very excited about it, so I'm happy about that.

She's also looking forward to her Halloween party at school. They are having a little carnival at the school too....so that should be fun. She's loving Kindergarten and all the fun stuff that comes with going to school. Everyday she comes home telling me about something fun they did. I'm so glad that its going well. It's a huge relief...lol! I know she's having fun everyday and I don't have to worry as much...its great.

Ok...I got sidetracked...back to Halloween..lol! Dd is going as a princess again..she loves her princesses..lol! I'm not sure what ds is going as yet...possibly a puppy. He loves puppies. This will be his first year trick or treating...so I'm excited to see how it goes and what his reaction to it will be. I think he's going to love it though.

So out of all the costumes your kids have worn over the years...what's your favorite? Leave me comment!

The living room furniture? Right now we have a very large dark green sectional. It wraps almost all the way around the living room, so it is a very large couch. I do like it, but I think its just too much for our small living area. It also is the worst dust bunny collector I have ever seen...well our hardwood floors don't help with that either. I pull the couch out every so often and sweep underneath and collect a bag full of toys that got sucked into the couch...lol!

I'm thinking that maybe in a couple years I would like to trade in the sectional for some more
contemporary furniture. I really think it would better suit our living room and well...I would just like it more..lol! It won't be for a little while though. We still have a 2 year old. New furniture and 2 year old don't mix. There are always sticky hands and messy faces around here. In a couple years though, he should be a little less sticky and we'll be able to get some new stuff...I can't wait!

I think I've mentioned this before, but we live in a very small town. We have 2 stoplights! So it is very small. We have 2 grocery stores, a handful of gas stations, car lots, a couple family owned restaurants, 3 fast food chains and that's about it...LOL!

This town screams franchise opportunity! We could use so many things in this town. Like more places to eat and shop. Right now we have to drive 45 minutes to go a mall or any of the big stores. It definitely cuts down on shopping time when you have to figure in roughly 2 hours of drive time. We hardly ever go during the week, just for that reason. I really wish the economy wasn't so awful right now. I know we won't be getting anything new until it turns around.

So if you live in a small town. What store do you wish you had?

We just got back from dropping dd of at school. Mornings around here are hard..lol! I don't think one person in this household is a morning person. So, dragging everyone out of bed is a huge chore, that usually ends up being a fight at one point or another. It is nice though having dd at school during the day though. Its so much more relaxed with just one kid at home. He's usually happy to just go play in his room or play with the dog. He keeps himself entertained pretty good, so that makes it a lot easier. He's really big into cartoons right now, especially Dora. I think he has a little crush on her..LOL! Its so funny watching him watch her. I swear he has tunnel vision. Now, if I could just get him to take a nap at a decent time.....so I could take one too...LOL.. Mama's need naps too!!!

I hate to say this...but it might snow by next weekend. SNOW!!!!!! I hate that word...its like the worst 4 letter word imaginable..lol! For the last week or so its only been getting up into the low 50's, and has been very cold at night. We had frost two or three nights this week. I'm so not ready for winter. I practically live underneath a heated blanket in the winter..lol! The kids love it of course...they love playing outside in the snow, making snowmen, snow forts and stuff. Ahh to be a kid again and love freezing your butt off...lol! The only good thing about winter.....cocoa!!!!! LOL!!
